Samuel's Baby Blessing

Because of the very rare "white" Christmas, church was canceled. We were able to bless baby Samuel in my parent's home instead. It was a unique experience.

Discovery Place - Charlotte NC

We went to visit "Aunt" Selena in her new home in Charlotte, NC.
She is a master decorator and has really made the place beautiful!
She's also been making her own pottery. I thought Rich caught a beautiful shot here.

Selena lives within walking distance of the Discovery Place so we went exploring!

Gavin spent many minutes at the aluminum foil sculpture station. He was very focused and made some very creative sculptures. Maybe he will take after his mom and Aunt Selena!

The bed of nails looked so cool and uncomfortable that the kids waited in a long line to try it out.

We visited the Discovery Place with Aunt Selena, Meme and Papa Goldston
and had a wonderful time! (Only a couple of meltdowns :)

And of course, we can't forget lego guns and fishing with the cousins!!
We miss NC and visiting with family!

Mother/Daughter Campout

What a fun experience! It has been a while since I spent some one-on-one time with Elisabeth and we both enjoyed it. And we were able to get to know some new friends along the way!

Elisabeth made some "fairy" pies for the neighborhood fairies that lived in the woods. They were very creative with acorn tops filled with small flower petals and tiny berries.

We attempted a canoe ride which was brave for Elisabeth but a bit too rocky. We'll have to try canoeing again next summer when she's a little older.
